Alvin Docton passed away peacefully September 18, 2015. He was born January 5, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Sam and Jennie Greenfield Docton. He volunteered to serve his country proudly during World War II in the 65th Infantry Division (Patten's 3rd Army) during the "Battle of the Bulge". His brother, Maury, was killed in Africa and his other brother, Frank, flew 2200 combat hours in the Pacific. After the war, Al went to Cook's Radio School and graduated upon receiving his First Class Radio License. He worked in various Radio Stations in Virginia and Mississippi until he accepted a position with the U.S. Department Voice of America in Manila, Philippines for two years. Al studied Contract Law at Rollins College and worked for three years for the Martin Corp. in Orlando, Florida. He then worked as Contracts Manager for International Laser Company in Orlando until he retired. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Hodges Docton; son, Carl Docton; grandchildren: Paul Docton, David Hartsfield and Katie Docton; and great-grandchildren, Natalie and Clara Docton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Maurice and Frank Docton; and sister, Rachel Glaser. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara, Utah.
