Salt Lake City, UT - Andrew Michael Woodward, 44, died May 25, 2010, in Salt Lake City, UT, following a lingering illness. Andy was born on August 6, 1965, in Provo, UT, to Michael Lynn Woodward and Virginia B. Woodward. He attended elementary and high school in St. George, and received an Associate of Science Degree from Dixie College. As a young man he worked at the Bloomington Market, and also at local restaurants, including The Shed and Scaldoni's. During this time he developed an interest in the restaurant industry. After extensive training with the Red Lobster Corporation as a chef and manager, he managed the Red Lobster Restaurant in St. George. He later worked as a manager of Christopher's Seafood and Steakhouse in Salt Lake and Bountiful, and Spencer's for Steaks and Chops, also in Salt Lake. He married Corita O'Conner. They had two children, Jessica and Alex. They later divorced, with Andy receiving custody of the children. He married Brandie Howard, St. George, in 1995. She was a wonderful mother to his children, and is loved by his entire family. They divorced after 15 years. Andy was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and the LA/St. Louis Rams. His collection of sports memorabilia was extensive, as was his music collection. Andy was a devoted Father. He adored his children and considered them to be his greatest treasures. Andy is survived by his parents, his daughter, Jessica Marie, St. George; his son, Alexander Michael, Salt Lake City; a grandson, Mason Wayne Tisdale, St. George; a sister, Tracy Lynn (Mike) Fischer, Herriman; a foster brother, Clint (Anna) MeFee, Logan; a foster sister, Robin Tsosi (Bert) Oso, Tempe, AZ. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, UT, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
