Obituary

Ann Huckaby passed away February 2, 2015 in St. George, Utah. She was born July 26, 1928 in Princeton, New Jersey to Antonio D. and Elitha Mae (Shepard) Adamo. At an early age her family moved to Redlands, California. She attended school in Redlands, California and graduated High School in Oceanside, California. Her interests in community service led her to membership with the Cotton Women's Club serving as President in 1967. She also served two terms as President of the San Bernadino Community Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. She was appointed by Gov. Brown of California to serve on a board of the California Hospital Association in the early 1970's. She was a docent for the Kimberely Crest Historical Home and later for the San Bernardino County Museum. Ann loved to sing and with her beautiful voice sang with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Redlands and in later years with Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Yucaipa, California. She is survived by her husband, T. Edward Huckaby and children: Clay Huckaby (Cathye) of St. George, UT and Patricia Huckaby-Spittler (Samuel) of Hallettsville, TX; ten grandchildren: Eric Huckaby of St. George, UT, Jeff Huckaby (Melissa) of Grand Terrace, CA, Jared Huckaby of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Clark Huckaby (Stephanie) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Christopher Meadows (Alex) of Mainz, Germany, Maralee Meadows (Brian) of Williams, AZ, David Spittler (Michelle) of Bryan, TX, Kathryn Spittler of Rexburg, ID, Carl Logan Spittler of Hallettsville, TX and Robert Lane Spittler of College Station, TX; and eleven great grandchildren: Kashmier Huckaby, Kyra Huckaby, Jody Corria, Jade Huckaby, Cecilia Meadows, Dominick Meadows, Tommy Meadows, Robin Meadows, Brooklyn Spittler, Blake Huckaby, and Carter Huckaby. A Catholic Mass will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. George Catholic Church located at 259 West 200 North. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
