IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Cleone
Gragg
March 10, 1926 – January 2, 2012
St. George, Utah - On Monday, January 2, 2012, we lost our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anna Cleone Gragg. She passed away peacefully during the night while she was spending the holidays in Boerne, Texas. Anna was raised in Winslow, Arizona where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Gragg, whom she married July 15, 1944. They were married 58 ½ years before he left this life to prepare for their heavenly reunion. Ann and Robert "Bob" were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple in March 1983. Anna was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 10, 1926 to John Wilson Ballantyne and Linda Farnsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings; and husband, Robert Lee Gragg. She is survived by two children: Daughter, Linda Carol Reynard and husband, Daryl of Boerne, Texas and son, Gary Lee Gragg and wife, Alene of Vancouver, Washington; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren (the youngest she had just met 2 weeks earlier in Texas.) She also leaves behind a brother, Larry Ballantyne and wife, Mary; a sister-in-law, Eva Darlene Tanner; and many nieces and nephews.
Hers was a beautiful life. She loved traveling with her husband, playing games and spending time with her family and friends. She recently was able to spend Thanksgiving with a grandson, his wife and their four children in Utah. Then she spent the Christmas Holiday with her daughter, son-in-law and the other six Texas grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna enjoyed the Holidays and loved life, but was very prepared to leave this earth to be with her husband and best friend. We will truly miss her phone calls and letters. She always remembered everyones birthdays. Up until she left for her Christmas visit to Texas, she served in the Temple and as a volunteer in ICU for the past nine years. Both services gave her great fulfillment, as did the times she spent with friends.
We wish to thank the church members, neighbors, family members and Lois Martin for their help and prayers at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Perpetual Education Fund in Annas memory.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Hills LDS 3 rd Ward Chapel, 1222 east Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
