Edna Anne Brown Day, passed away on January 11, 2016. She was born April 15, 1926 to Dora Ballard and Edwin Parley Brown in Murray, Utah. She was married to Melvin Thomas Day on June 16, 1947, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. They made their home in Murray, Clearfield, Bountiful and Ivins, Utah. They raised their family in Bountiful. She worked for the U.S. Naval Ordinance Plant during WWII in Pocatello, Idaho and Dames and Moore in Salt Lake City as a draftswoman.
She loved to oil paint and do pencil sketching. She was a wonderful cook. She had a cute subtle sense of humor and sometimes not so subtle. She specially loved being a wife, mother and grandmother which was the joy of her life.
She is survived by her husband; Melvin T. Day, children: Melvin Thomas "Tom" II (Terri Jo), Paul Heber (Deana), JoAnne (Kirk) Davis, James Alan, Doralee (Arnold) Copp, brother; Keith X Brown, 25 grandchildren, 89 + great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and daughter-in-law; Louise Durfey Day.
She was loved by many, especially her family and will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held in St. George, Utah on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary located at 288 W. St. George Blvd.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the Memorial Estates Chapel, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel.
