St. George, Utah - Anne Ford McNeil was born in Centerville, Utah, March 2, 1917. The youngest of six children of Joseph N. Ford and Algie Walker Ford. Anne died January 29, 2022, from having had too many birthdays. Anne was born, raised and learned the value of hard work on the family farm. Her father was Bishop of the Centerville 2 nd Ward from the time she was born until after she had married. Anne graduated from Davis High School in 1935 where she was involved in many activities and created many great lifelong friendships.
Anne married David T. McNeil November 24, 1937, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for thirty-one years, where they raised their family of three sons. They moved to the East Bay Area in Northern California and lived there for twenty years. At age fifty-five Anne started her own successful business, "Anne McNeil's Personal Business Service", where she specialized in typing personal papers, bookkeeping, tax preparation and sold real estate. Anne enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world. In 1988 Dave and Anne retired and moved to St George, Utah. They enjoyed retired life as members of the Bloomington Country Club and made many wonderful friends playing golf and bridge. Anne won a gold medal in bridge competition at a Huntsman World Senior Games. Anne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Preceded in death by her son, Scott Ford McNeil; husband, David Tolman McNeil; siblings: Ralph Walker Ford, Nora Ford Williamson, Dale Ford, Joseph Harold Ford, Helen Ford Nelson; most all her friends and unofficially the entire Davis High School Class of 1935. Survived by sons: Joseph David (JD) McNeil, Scott's wife Kathy, Tyler Ford McNeil and his wife Ginna; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. in St. George, Utah.
