Ivins, Utah - Arden Lowell Scott, 88, passed away January 19, 2011 at his home in Ivins, Utah. He was born December 10, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jennie Shupp and George Robert Scott, but was raised by his mother and Henry Christensen. He married Nancy Joyce Hatch in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on July 18, 1946. Arden graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following his marriage to Nancy, he lived and worked in Pittsburgh, PA, Portland, OR, Idaho Falls, ID and La Crescenta, CA while working as an Electrical / Consulting Engineer for over 40 years for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He held many church callings and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was always serving others and was a great example for his children and grandchildren. He was loved very much and will be remembered as a loving Husband, father and grandfather. His family will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, father, mother and six brothers. He is survived by his son, Jesse (Kathy) Scott of Taylorsville, UT, and three daughters: Colleen (Tom) Ray of 29 Palms, CA, Jo Lynne (Dennis) Watkins of Visalia, CA and Laurie (Kevin) Smith of Encinitas, CA. He has 23 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Red Cliffs LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 625 Center Street, Ivins, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Chapel, prior to services. Interment will be at the Ivins City Cemetery. They showed concern and kindness to our father, and were supportive of family members needs during this difficult time. They helped us more than they will ever know.
