St. George, Utah – Ardith Alder Stewart, 81, passed away February 6, 2016. She was born July 27, 1934 to David and Elta Dudley Alder in Jensen, Utah. She was married and sealed to Otto J. Stewart in the Manti LDS Temple on June 30, 1953.

Ardith was the loving and amazing mother to seven children. She and Otto loved to spend time in the outdoors with the kids camping and fishing.

She was a very dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the St. George Temple for many years.

Ardith was preceded in death by her loving husband, Otto; her parents; her two brothers, Udell and Val Alder; sister-in-law, Mary Alder; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her children: Deloris (Wayne) Hill, Rodger Stewart, LaMar (Sherry) Stewart, Mark (Dana) Stewart, Collett (Steve) Arnold, Russell (Nanette) Stewart and Brad (Lora) Stewart; 29 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers: Carl Alder and Jay (Connie) Alder; and her sister, Carma (Jerrett) Cameron.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
