St. George, Utah - Arthur Winslow Adams passed away May 8, 2011 from lung cancer. Art was born April 3, 1937 in Glendale, CA to Winslow and Norma Adams. He graduated form Anaheim Union high School in 1956 and proceeded onto Cal Poly. After college, he served in the U.S. Army. He then moved to San Francisco to pursue his career in sales. Art had a passion for flying and obtained a private and commercial pilots license, as well as, his own personal Cessna 140A, which twice he made the flight to Oshkosh, Wi. One of Arts proudest moments was when he flew the simulator at the NASA Ames Research Center, usually reserved for only astronauts. Aside from flying, he loved to travel the US and Canada with his wife in their motor home. One of Arts proudest accomplishments was starting the Tracy Entrepreneurs Group for small business owners and is part of the Tracy Chamber of Commerce. This group started in 2002 and continues to grow. Art is survived by his wife, Verlene; sister, Mary Marty ; daughter, Carla Conn; four step- children; and six grandchildren. A Memorial Celebration will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
