IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aric Michel
Cramer
March 29, 1959 – December 9, 2023
St. George, Utah - Aric was born March 29, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, to Charles "Chuck" and Nancy Cramer. He spent his younger years climbing the highest peak of every mountain in the United States. He had a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and lifted weights. He coached his boys' little league teams and would go out of his way to help friends, family, or anyone needing help.
Aric graduated from law school in 1988 at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. He emigrated to Utah and was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1989 and admitted to the District of Utah, United States Federal Court.
He joined NACDL and the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 1998 and is a member of UACDL. He became a Life Member of NACDL in 2000 and earned an LLM in tax law at the University of Colorado.
As a young attorney, he worked as a tax, family, and bankruptcy attorney before finding his true passion was criminal law. He advocated for criminal justice reform and an end to capital punishment. Aric believed in people when no one else did.
Aric was a big man; he used to tell people he was five feet 20 inches tall and wait for them to do the math. Aric made a point of living his big life to the fullest. He loved his three sons beyond measure and was so proud of each of them: Carter Cramer, Alex (Misty) Cramer, and Aric Jr (Steph) Cramer. There is nothing he would not do for his children. He considered his grandchildren Khloe, Vally, and Connor Cramer among his greatest gifts.
Aric and his Life Partner, Madelyn Everett, traveled nationwide to watch Khloe and Vally in ice skating competitions. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, mother, brother Marc Cramer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Aric M Cramer passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, after a brief illness at St. George Regional Hospital. Aric was 64 years old.
His colleagues, friends, clients, and anyone lucky to meet him will feel Aric's loss, but the void in his children's and grandchildren's lives feels insurmountable.
