St. George, Utah - Barbara Ann Murray Briest passed away May 22, 2013. She was born December 14, 1934 to Edward and Janet Murray. She was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with her two sisters, Peggy and June.

She graduated from nursing school on February 18, 1957. On November 8, 1958, she married Steve Bruce Briest in Bermuda. They later moved to Covina, California where they raised four children. On May 31, 1967, she became a Registered Nurse and also the neighborhood nurse and doctor. There wasnt a person that didnt love and respect her.

In 1996, Barbara and Steve moved to St. George, Utah where she became a respected member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society. Barbara and Steve were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 4, 1999.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Steve; children: Tamara, Jeff, Bruce and Brenda; and 11 grandchildren. She is deeply loved and missed.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Friends and family are invited to a reception following the services at the Diamond Valley LDS Stake Center, 1784 North Diamond Valley Drive, St. George, Utah.
