At 91 years old, Joyce passed in bed peacefully at home with family in Kearns, Utah on October 5th, 2026. It was eleven in the evening after a full bath and a meal.

Joyce was born November 26th, 1934, to Ray and Phoebe Shepherd and raised in Sugarhouse, Utah. Joyce was known as an outgoing, generous woman who loved life. She birthed six children, and gained seven bonus children when she married the love of her life Charles Trujillo. Together they have over one hundred grand and great grand and great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie; sisters Helen Shepherd, Marian Gray, and Arlyne Campbell; her sons Brett Parkin, Dan Johnson, Tom Trujillo, and Joe Trujillo; as well as seven grand and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her little brother Robert Shepherd; her children Craig (Vesta) Parkin, Gail (Skip) Wilson, Scott (Sharon) Parkin, and Kay (Jeff) Thompson as well as Anthony (Terry) Trujillo, Elaine Trujillo, Bob (Anna) Trujillo, Patty Trujillo, and Dino Trujillo.

As requested, she will be cremated and ashes buried, with no services. There will be a celebration of life Summer 2027 at Lindsey Gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah for close family and friends. Date will be confirmed January 2027.
