Santa Clara, Utah – The loved ones of Barry Kim Miller bid their beloved husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather a sweet farewell on his 70th birthday November 18, 2023. Barry was the son of Glen Miller and Vivian Miller Bell and was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised with his sisters Cynthia, Susan, and brothers Glen, Gary, Ted, and Dan in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley.

Barry lived with a lot of energy and was always on the move. He was an eternal optimist. Every year he would faithfully declare that it was going to be the year of the Aggies!

Barry loved competition in sport. He played high school sports, excelling particularly in baseball and football.  His senior year they won a state championship in football. He was well known for his performance on and off the field. He went on to play football as a line-backer with the Utah State Aggies. He earned his college degree in History. Barry met his first wife, Jennifer Hogge, while attending Utah State and they were married in the Logan Temple on April 14, 1976.

Shortly thereafter they moved their young family to California where Barry obtained his Law Degree at Pepperdine University. Together, they raised one son and three daughters: Benjamin, Kimberly, Amy, and Heidi. As parents they inspired them with a strong work ethic and performance. They are also the proud grandparents of 17 grandchildren and soon to be one great-grandchild (Yeah Sidney). They raised their four children in Camarillo, CA where Barry worked with his brothers at the family business at Milgro where yet again his performance was known "in and out" of the greenhouses.

Barry met Karen, his beautiful sweetheart, at the Milgro flower stand in Oxnard, California several times. They shared a love of flowers, and that love grew from there. They were married in Palm Springs on October 25, 2003, and she has since been forever by his side. Barry was devoted to his life's work with diligence, persistence, commitment, and success and was often heard to be saying, "It's a good day to have a good day" and "Let's go do some good today."

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Karen Shaw; children and their families: Benjamin (Brandi Miller) of Arizona, 5 children; Kimberly of American Fork, 5 children; Amy of Clearfield, 4 children; Heidi (Scott Smith) of Highland, 3 children. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Glen, Gary, Ted; sisters: Glendala, Cynthia, and Susan; and has joined his Home Team to which there will be never-ending wins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Shadow Mountain Ward (Green Valley 5th Ward Chapel), 124 North Valley View Drive, St George UT 84770.

Visitations will be Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary located at 288 West St. George Blvd and Monday, prior to services, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  at the church.

Interment will be in the Santa Clara City Cemetery, 1950 Ancestor Way, Santa Clara, UT 84765.
