Ben Libick St. George, UT - Ben Libick, age 91, passed away on September 24, 2011 at his home in LaVerkin, Utah. He was born to Charles and Anna Libick on June 8, 1920 in Colorado. Ben lived through the Dust Bowl years and the Great Depression of the 1930's before moving to Louisiana, where he graduated from High School. Then he signed up with the C C Cs and was sent to California. He enlisted in the US Army Air Force in WWII. After he was honorably discharged, he married his sweetheart, Billie Parker. Ben and Billie moved to California and he worked there for 35 years. After retirement, they moved to Utah in 1981 and they spent the next 30 years volunteering for RSVP and the Hurricane Senior Center.. Billie passed away in 2004 and Ben continued volunteering. He is survived by his children: Kenneth (Sharon) Libick of Texas, Elizabeth Ann (Lee) Lunde of North Dakota, Ruby (Dan) Klement of Iowa, and Bennie Libick of Maryland, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Steve (Peggy) Libick of Virginia, a sister, Margaret Midkiff of Louisiana and a sister in law, Irene Libick of Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the LaVerkin City Cemetery.
