. St. George, UT - Betty Johnson, age 79, born as Betty Kountouris on August 2, 1946, in Levadia, Greece joined our Lord and Saviour in Heaven at 4pm, MST on January 20, 2026 in St. George, UT. Betty leaves behind a son Cyrus Nooriala, daughter-in-law Norma Nooriala, daughter Anastacia Hunter, and grandchildren; Megan Nooriala, Kristen Nooriala, Lauren Hunter, and Leela Hunter.

Betty immigrated to the United States when she was just 8 years old, landing in Michigan and being cared for by her Aunt and Uncle.  Betty eventually moved to Southern California where she married and had two children.  Betty worked for various companies where she quickly became a most valued employee wherever she worked, but her favorite work family came from Prudential Overall Supply where she retired after 18 years.

Betty was a beloved personality known as a "straight shooter".  People often say that with Betty you always knew where you stood and her opinion was no secret.  From politics to her faith, Betty was willing to share with anyone her deep beliefs and convictions.

Betty died at home with family by her side and blessed with very little pain and lucid to the very end. Betty's testament of faith has positively impacted many of her friends and family as well as a multitude of others who found her strength of faith inspirational.

Betty was a small-town girl from Greece who found her resting place in America's Wild Wild West. Betty will be so dearly missed by everyone lucky enough to have crossed her path.

Funeral services for Betty will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at the Westside Baptist Church, 2299 West 2000 North, St. George, UT., with a gathering prior at 10:30 a.m
