Obituary

Hurricane, Utah - Bevan Vernet Hinton was born on October 22, 1968, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Stellman Vernet and Verna LaPriel Hinton. He was raised in Las Vegas, graduating from Bonanza High School in 1987. After graduation, he served a 2-year LDS mission to Rome, Italy. He enjoyed his time there and frequently shared his fondness for the Italian people and culture. Bevan worked as a heavy equipment operator and landscaper in Nevada and Utah. There was not a piece of heavy equipment he had not mastered. He willingly shared these skills by helping many friends and family with personal projects over the years.

Bevan was a natural people-person. He was a master at making connections. He loved forming relationships with family, friends, and co-workers. He went to great lengths to stay connected and always made people feel important and loved. Family was everything to him. Whether you were immediate or extended family, he loved you fiercely. Any chance he had to gather and talk to his loved ones, he took. His children brought him immense joy and the addition of his 6 grandchildren only increased that joy a hundredfold. Being a father and grandpa were his greatest roles.

Bevan's greatest passions involved the outdoors (also candy and Mountain Dew). He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, cutting wood, and most importantly riding his horses. Bevan was a natural horseman. Aside from family, horses were his greatest passion. Over the course of his life he has owned and trained a countless number of horses. People looked to Bevan for advice because of his great knowledge of horses. Many have been lucky enough to spend time riding with and learning from him, as he loved sharing any opportunity he had with others, especially his family.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023 Bevan Vernet Hinton was unexpectedly called home while elk hunting. He was met with a warm embrace from his father Stellman Hinton for the first time in 24 years. He is survived by his children: Andrew, Cassie, Carli, Madison, Cheyenne, and Ella; and his grandchildren: Taysen, Casen, Colter, Callie, Carter, and Max. He is also survived by his mother, Verna Hinton; his siblings: Miya (Brad) Hafen, Shane (Jenn) Hinton, and Tiffany (Rob) Riley; his 10 nieces and nephews; and his partner, Jenifer Johnson.
