Obituary

Washington, Utah - Bill Cunningham Loader died January 28, 2025, after a battle with Parkinson's disease and Dementia.  He was born in American Fork, Utah, April 25, 1946, the second of four children born to Harry Nathaniel Loader and Leona Cunningham.  He was raised on the family fruit farm in Pleasant Grove / Lindon, Utah.  He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and Southern Utah State College, (Southern Utah University), with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Bill married PamaRae Bundy, September 23, 1972, in Cedar City, Utah, later solemnized in the St. George Temple, November 4, 1984. Pam and Bill have been happily married for the last 52 years.  They are the parents of five sons: Corrin Ross Loader, (deceased), Collin Bundy Loader, Cameron Olds Loader, Courtney Joshua Loader and Chase Nathaniel Loader. He had one granddaughter, Chelsea Rae Loader.

Bill was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had several callings in his faith with Home Teacher and Regional Fruit Farm Worker being his favorite.  He served a "Member Locator Mission" for his Church, (2011-2013).

Bill was a retired Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Policeman, in Fort Worth, Texas, (Strategic Air Command), and Anchorage, Alaska, (Alaska Air Command), 1966 – 1970).  He joined the Utah National Guard in 1979, serving with Battery B, 2/222 Field Artillery, St. George, Utah, until his retirement in 1995.

Bill was employed in several different jobs in his youth, fruit farming, on the family farm, working for U.S. Steel Geneva works and Security Officer at Tooele and Dugway Army Depots.  He enjoyed his career with Utah State Adult Probation and Parole.  He was the first Resident Agent in Washington County, being involved in an office that grew from one Agent to 8 Agents. He retired as the Office Supervisor in 1997.  He then worked for Mohave County Arizona as the lone Adult and Juvenile Probation Officer on the Arizona Strip.  He was the first Officer to cover the Arizona Strip, Mohave County, North of the Colorado River, but was serving out of an office in St. George, Utah.  He was proud of his pioneering work with Probation and Parole, in the States of Utah and Arizona.

Bill was an avid hiker having hiked several trails in Utah and Arizona with his hiking buddies.  He was brought up by loving parents who taught him the importance of a hard day's work, honesty and integrity.  Bill was an avid historical buff and was proud of his pioneer heritage. His intelligence was broad, and his interests varied.  He was a life-long learner with an appreciation for a good story or joke. You could also always find him humming or singing a song.

He is survived by his wife PamaRae, his sons, his granddaughter and his sisters: Peggy McQuiston and Lisa Forbes.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 600 East Telegraph Street, Washington, Utah.  A viewing will be held on Monday, prior to services, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.  Interment will be at Washington City Cemetery located at 300 Park View Drive.
