Obituary

St. George, UT - Billy B. Anderson, 88, of St. George, Utah passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Bill was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ken and Marjorie Anderson on April 9, 1922. Bill graduated from West High School and was a cheerleader there. He married Ruth Bodon in 1956 and they lived together in Salt Lake City before relocating to St George, Utah a few years ago. Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bill worked with his brother in their family Dry Cleaning Business and later at Kennecott Copper before retiring. He also served his country during World War II in the United States Army and was stationed overseas in Europe. Bill loved to sing and sang with Lawrence Welk as a guest singer prior to his popular TV show. The last few years of his life he enjoyed his friends at the Meadows Assisted Living where he sang weekly to all there who will miss him. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anderson; daughter, Renata Young and her husband Ken Young. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Michelle Baird, her husband Matthew and three great-grandchildren. A family service will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Wasatch Lawn in Salt Lake City, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
