St. George, UT - Billy Richard Folston, 85, passed through the veil Saturday, 26 September 2009, in St. George, of mesothelioma. He was born 17 August 1924 in Prescott, Yavapai, Arizona to Herbert V. & Ma. Beatriz (Tapia-Urias) Folston. In 1948 Billy married E. Arden Meyer; they later divorced. He married Margaret L. Watson in San Pedro, CA on 23 December 1962 and were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple 16 September 1977. At the age of 17 Billy enlisted in the US Army/Air Force in Prescott, and served for the duration of WWII. In 1948, he re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Billy's hobbies were camping and fishing, which he taught his children and grandchildren to enjoy. His last employment was at Dixie Regional Medical Center at the Women's & Children's facility where he was "the linen/laundryman". He loved his job, and was loved and respected in return by all his co-workers, hospital employees and doctors alike. The family wishes to thank Dr's Woodbury, Dartey, Rignell, Lemon, Southern Ut Home Care & Hospice and their staffs for their tender loving care. Billy is survived by his wife Margaret and his children E. Christine (Wayne) Harris of Las Vegas, NV; Diana Piini of Temecula, CA; Cathleen (Hill) Castro of Arleta, CA; Billy Jr. of Portland, OR; Charli (Cody) Fraughton of Centerville, UT, John of San Diego, CA, James (Noelle) of St. George; and Michael (Nicole) of Winchester, CA. He also leaves his sisters Virginia Folston, Caroline (Babe) Dominguez, brothers Johnny Carranza, Tony, Ernest & Larry Gomez; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Albert and sister Georgia (Ernesto) Rivera, son-in-laws Gregory C. Hill and Robert W. Castro, g-granddaughter Avi Jo Sessions and grandson Seth Fraughton. A viewing will be held Friday, October 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary at 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. with a viewing to take place an hour previous at 1:30 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery at 1777 So. Dixie Dr., St. George, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
