Obituary

St. George, UT – Bonnie Lou Leavitt Ford, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 15 Jan. 2016 residing at her assisted living apartment. Bonnie was born on August 18, 1927 in Abraham, Utah, Millard County to Donna Rushton and Laman Pulsipher Leavitt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nolan Ford.  They met in Twin Falls, ID when Nolan was on leave from the U.S. Navy and Bonnie was working as a beautician.  They were married there 17 March 1962.

Bonnie was originally a resident of St. George as a child in the 1930's before moving to Las Vegas where she grew up. Bonnie and Capt. James N. Ford, after retiring from 26 years in the USN, moved to and were residents of St. George from Sept. 1980 until Nolan's untimely death in Dec. 1990.  Bonnie continued to reside there on and off, spending time with their children in California.

Bonnie is survived by her four children: Michael Zicari and his wife, Lisa (Clements, CA), Toni Greves and her husband, Mark (Castro Valley, CA), Randy Ford and his wife Louise (Vacaville, CA), Douglas Ford and his partner Ted Marigomen (Belmont, CA); 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 23 Jan. 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 St. George Blvd. in St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be held in the St. George City Cemetery.
