IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brent Watkins
Reynolds
July 7, 1940 – August 28, 2024
Hurricane, Utah - Brent Watkins Reynolds, age 84, passed away August 28, 2024, in Hurricane, Utah. While he struggled with heath issues for many years, his example taught us how to endure to the end with a positive attitude, gratitude, and faith.
Brent was born in the Oneida County Idaho Hospital on July 7, 1940, to Rex Reynolds and Mildred Watkins Reynolds. He married the love of his life, Connie LaRue Whitehouse, in the Salt Lake Temple, August 28, 1964. They met at Brigham Young University while folk dancing. They loved to dance and shared that passion with their kids and grandkids. After 40 years of marriage, Connie passed away from heart complications, Brent leaned into his faith and knowledge that they would someday be reunited. On October 9, 2009, Brent married April Christensen, who had lost her husband Ray to cancer a few years earlier. They loved traveling and each other; April was by Brent's side and supported him from the day they were married until the morning he passed away.
Brent loved to serve the Lord. He served in various callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved working in the Temple. He missed being able to attend the Temple the last few years of his life. He loved to exercise his faith by singing the hymns in church. He had an amazing voice and loved to sing out loud every chance he got.
Brent was loved by everyone he encountered, he knew your name and made you feel important. He taught his kids how to work and the importance of family, he often put his needs on hold to provide for them. He worked at the State Hospital in Provo, Utah in Risk Management, and taught CPR and First Aid for the American Red Cross. He loved teaching and sharing that gift with others. He had a talent for making jewelry and was more excited to give his creations away than sell them.
Brent also loved being in nature, he worked on a dude ranch in Idaho growing up and loved camping, hiking and backpacking. He tried his hardest to keep up with Connie and April, as they both never slowed down. He shared that passion with his grandkids: Darian, Coral, Cali, Aspen, Paige, Piper, and Caden and frequently took them to Zion National Park for adventures. He currently has five great grandchildren: Zariah, Ridley, Delilah, Truth, Maverick and a new baby on the way, they brought him so much joy!
He is survived by his four children: Leisa, Burk (Jenn), Kimberly (Shane) and Derek; seven grandchildren: five great grandchildren; brother, Brian (Joyce) Reynolds; his wife April and her children: Todd (Kathy) Christensen, Marci (Darren) Ware, Ryan (Sheree) Christensen; seven grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Brent was an amazing father, husband, grandpa, brother, friend, and spirit. There are few words to describe how much he was loved and how much he will be missed, but never forgotten.
He would want to thank all those who cared for him, he loved the staff at the Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation Center, The Haven, and those with Summit Home Health & Hospice.
