Bruce L.
Jones
March 29, 1939 – December 1, 2019
Bruce Lins Jones, 80, passed away December 1, 2019. He was a resident of Central, Utah, for the past 19.5 years. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Herbert Lins Jones and Marie Barbara (Benz) Jones and was the beloved husband of Deanna Clemens Jones.
Shortly after completion of high school he started on a 30-plus year career with the Pennsylvania Power & Light (PP&L) Company. He was directly involved as a data center supervisor with the transition from data tapes and punched cards to new generation computers. After retiring, he headed West to begin a second career that included time at the Grand Canyon and Death Valley National Parks and calling bingo in Nevada, where he met Deanna.
Bruce loved traveling, sports, bingo and administering special love to any pet he owned, with a certain affinity for cats. One of his favorite quotes was "It's the cat's house, we just pay the mortgage." His avid fan support for the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles never wavered, regardless of where he lived. He was also a huge fan of the Utah Jazz. He stimulated that same love of sports with his children. He always expressed joy over a home-cooked meal. He made friends with great ease and continually expressed his deep love for family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Mark (Debria) Jones and Barry (Dana) Jones; a daughter, Vicki (James) Casey; and two step-sons: Jimmy Radmall and Jeramy Radmall. He had six grandchildren: Alyssa Jones, Kevin Jones, Erin Jones, Taylor Casey, Darby Casey and Daniel Radmall.
