IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmen
Bowler
February 19, 1954 – May 26, 2024
St. George, Utah – Carmen Bowler, 70, passed away May 26, 2024. She was born February 19, 1954, in St. George, Utah to James Samuel "Page" Bowler, II and Barbara Beatty Bowler, the 4th child and 1st daughter. She was born just 5 months after Page and Barbara were called to serve as St. George Temple Ordinance Workers. They served more than 30 years, so all of us were Temple kids.
Carmen was born in Dixie Pioneer Memorial Hospital. The family lived in Gunlock full time until Carmen was 4, then they bought a home is St. George. They spent summers in Gunlock and winters in St. George.
Carmen attended East Elementary, Woodward and Dixie High School where she graduated with honors. She also attended Dixie College where she graduated with an Associate's Degree.
Carmen loved people and had lots of friends. She worked as a loan processor for many years including more than 10 years with John Allen and Jeanette Allen at Sun Capital and about 15 years at Zion's Bank Main Street Branch with Orson Brown.
Carmen taught primary and served in the Relief Society presidencies, 2nd Counselor in the 4th Ward and Relief Society President at the College.
Carmen was an excellent pianist until her R.A. robbed her of the ability to play. Even in her youth she was frequently called upon in the Gunlock Ward and in the Red Cliffs Singles Ward to be the pianist.
Carmen was kind and generous with her siblings as well as her nieces and nephews. She went to Hawaii twice and visited all the Church history and American sites. Despite her physical limitations she remained very sharp and very true to her strong testimony of her Savior. Following her parents' example, she took care of her own parents in their declining health.
Carmen is survived by her brothers: Franklin Page of Ivins UT, Terry Wayne (Melanie) of Enterprise UT, and Lonnie Beatty (Marsha) Washington UT; her sister, Nancy Bowler if St. George UT; and 16 nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Doug Callahan and Dr, Spencer Wells for their care of Carmen.
