IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Snow
Averett
February 3, 1943 – April 22, 2023
Washington, Utah – Carol Snow Averett, 80, April 22, 2023, Washington, Utah. She was born February 3, 1943, in Jensen, Utah, to Woodrow and Leila Snow.
Carol grew up in Jensen, Utah, where she lived and worked on a working farm with her family. Her parents raised her always to be honest, loyal, independent, and hard-working. After leaving home, she lived in Bayfield, Colorado, attended BYU in Provo, Utah, for a short time, then made her way to Southern Utah, where she lived until April 2022. Carol met Earl Snyder in St. George, Utah, where they were married. Together, Carol and Earl had four children, all of whom were boys - Dave, Ross, Max, and Clark. After moving to Enterprise, Utah, in the early 80s, Carol started working at the school for the Washington County School District as a school lunch cook. She loved the work and later moved to Washington, Utah, to care for her mother, Leila Snow. Carol cared for her mother until her passing and remained in Washington. When Carol moved to Washington, she transferred her employment as a school lunch cook and later became a director of the school lunch program for three schools in the St. George area. Carol loved her work and retired in 2013. Carol devoted most of her life to working as a volunteer EMT and as a Utah State certified EMT instructor.
Carol enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Like her mother and father, she always offered a place for anyone down on their luck. She loved everyone and wanted to help everyone she could in any way she could. Carol was honest, loyal, independent, and hard-working. She loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, or just riding to the lake or riding up on the mountain. In her later years, as her mental and physical abilities diminished, she recalled spending time with her brother in Hawaii and her brother in Florida. She would recall hunting and fishing trips throughout her life with her family. Her family and the memories she made in this life were her treasures.
Carol is survived by her four sons and their spouses: Dave and Angela Snyder, Ross and Michele Snyder, Max and Tonya Snyder, and Clark Snyder, along with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Ronald Snow; sister-in-law, Shawna Snow, Myra Hodson, Norman and Marilyn Snow, Hester and Lloyd Demille, Evelyn Hart, Marion "Mert" and Peggy Snow. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Woodrow and Leila Snow; brothers: Milton and Ray Snow; and sister-in-law, Norma Snow.
