Carol Wright
Goddard
October 25, 1931 – January 27, 2024
Leeds, Utah – Carol Wright Goddard, 92, passed away January 27, 2024. She was born on October 25, 1931, in Hinkley, Utah to Ianthus Wright and Alice Stebbins Wright.
Carol was raised in Cedar City, Utah and studied at the College of Southern Utah and The University of Utah. After graduating she taught school in Long Beach, California then took a year off to teach military children in Germany. Upon her return to Long Beach, she married Donald Goddard in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1952.
Carol taught school in Long Beach for nearly 30 years. Upon retiring she and Don moved to Leeds, Utah where together they farmed, raised cattle, and had a couple of horses. Carol loved watching the ducks in her pond and had quite a collection of all forms of ducks. She loved the poetry of Emily Dickson.
Carol is survived by her son Donald Gerald (Satomi Choy) Goddard; son-in-law, Lyman Stratton; grandchildren: Matt Goddard, Dane (Dani) Goddard, Tara Stratton and Travis (Date) Stratton; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leeds LDS Chapel, 75 North Main Street, Leeds, Utah.
