Toquerville, Utah- On December 25, 2015, Carol Straw passed from mortality to enter in the presence of her Father in Heaven. She was born on April 1, 1935 in Fairview, Utah to Leta Melissa Taylor and Robert Nyberg Christensen. She spent her early childhood in Hiawatha, Utah and moved to Provo, Utah when she was 9. After graduation from Provo High School she attended BYU for a short time where she was a founding member of the BYU Alpine Club. In 1957 she went to Washington, D.C. to work, where she met her husband, Reese Straw. On October 13, 1958 they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The majority of her married life was spent in Massachusetts where she raised her 3 children. After 35 years she and Reese left the cold and snow of New England and moved to Toquerville, Utah in 1997. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life. She loved children, the outdoors, quilting and all that life had to offer.

She is survived by her brother, Nolan V. Frederick of Boulder, Colorado; her husband, Reese; her daughters: Maylene (Robert Bird) of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Karen of Toquerville, Utah; granddaughter, Gabriela Victoria (Steven Young); 3 great-grandchildren of St. George, Utah; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark.
