St. George, Utah
– Carol Jean Wright, 73, passed away, July 3, 2017, in St. George, Utah. She was born October 23, 1943, in Miami, Arizona to Angeline Burk and William Serfoss.
Carol graduated from high school in Delta, CO and looked forward to each of the reunions. In 1962, she married Gary Frey. They were married for 21 years and had five children that she loved with all her heart.
She married Dallas Wright on February 7, 1987 in Lander, WY. With this union, she became a treasured stepmom to his three children. They were sealed together in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1988.
Family meant everything to Carol. She cherished her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. With her bright, sunny disposition, Carol left her imprint on all she met. Even on the gloomiest days, by sharing her infectious smile and a seemingly endless supply of Lifesavers, she would make every person think they were the most important person in her world. She will be greatly missed by the duck families she fed and watched grow during daily walks at the Snow Canyon Softball Complex with Dallas and Cinder. Those who encountered her along the way were graced with an extra dose of sunshine for their day. She was very active in the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in the temple baptistery.
Carol is survived by her husband, Dallas Wright; sisters: Donna and Betty; brother, Walter; her children: Michele (Ken), Cindy, Gara (Rick), Rodney (Nikki), Terry; Dallas' children: Monte (Delby), Shaylinn (Duane) and Trina (James); 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Canyon LDS 1st Ward, 1184 North Dixie Downs, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter to honor Carol's legacy and love of animals.
