Obituary

With a heavy heart we say goodbye to a very special lady who would light up the room wherever she was and was a true fighter until the very end.

Carolyn Louise Hansen was born on March 16, 1948 to Darrell and Anna Hansen along with her twin sister Marilyn.

She was born in Price, Utah and lived in Emery, Utah until the age of 3. She and her family moved to American Fork for one year until they moved to Pleasant Grove where she lived until she graduated from college

Carolyn graduated from Pleasant Grove High School where she was active in the Girls Athletic Association (GAA). After graduation she attended Brigham Young University where she graduated in 4 years with a major in physical education.

She moved to Ridgecrest, California where she taught at Murray Middle School at China Lake Naval Base. She taught physical education and health to combined classes of boys and girls for 35 years. She was also involved in the city women’s softball league as a pitcher, at which she excelled.

After 35 years she moved to Washington City at Coral Canyon and bought her 2nd home. She was very active living here and served in several positions in the LDS Church; Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society counselor, Gospel Doctrine teacher, which she truly enjoyed teaching for many years. She later served an LDS 2 yr mission in the Family History Center in St. George. This was one of the joys in her life.

Her biggest joy was her family and her friends. She loved all of her nieces and nephews and was a great part of their activities. She loved watching them perform and showing off their talents whether it be in sports or music.

Carolyn had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She loved to quote her favorite movies which were: Sandlot, Young Frankenstein, and Monty Python-search for the Holy Grail. to name a few

Reading was one of her favorite pastimes along with painting and making her own greeting cards for others.

Her favorite time would be remembering the past vacations and visits with all of the family

A special thanks to Primrose Assisted Living and Summit Hospice for making her stay so nice. She was taken care of so well and was very happy while she was there for a short time.
