St. George, Utah - Cecily Alison Christensen, 91, passed away December 28, 2015. She was born January 28, 1924 in Milan, Italy to Robert Reginald Guido Mann and Leslie Palmer Strout.
Cecily was raised in Ken Gardens near London, England. In 1940, her parents sent Cecily and her siblings to America to escape the bombings. She attended college in Ohio and Connecticut. She acquired her Master's degree in Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania.
While working in Buffalo, NY she met the love of her life, Raymond Christensen and they were married in Washington, D.C. in 1953. From 1955 to 1957, they lived in Japan while Raymond worked as a pathologist for the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission.
Cecily and Raymond, traveled home and abroad on Elderhostel vacations. They spent three summers at Cambridge University summer school engaging in all learning opportunities. Cecily's calling as homemaker gave her the opportunity to be involved in a variety of volunteer work, which gave her great satisfaction. She was an active member in the Mall Drive branch, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints.
She is survived by her two step-daughters; Kathryn Frei of Foster City, CA and Linda Jensen of Phoenix, AZ. Graveside services were held December 31, 2015 at the Tonaquint City Cemetery, St. George, Utah.Tonaquint Cemetery
