IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles
Lewsader
June 21, 1927 – November 5, 2021
St. George, Utah - Charles "Charlie" Lewsader, 94, made his transition from this life on Friday evening, November 5, 2021, at St. George Regional Hospital in St George, Utah. He was born June 21, 1927 at home in Oxford, Indiana to Samuel Lewsader and Verna Sutters Lewsader. He was the youngest of six children. Charlie spent the first half of his life in Indiana. Graduated from Oxford High School in 1945 and came to Los Angeles where he met and married his wife, Evelyn Coulter. They raised four children and were married 33 years. The marriage ended in divorce.
Charlie loved his career as the owner of a successful home construction business, Par Construction Company in the San Bernardino and San Diego areas of California. He met his second wife, Nina Lewsader. They were married 10 years. This marriage ended in divorce. The building business in California waned so in 1986 Charlie moved to Donna, Texas where he built several mobile home resorts. In 1987 he met and married his true love, Velma "Jean" Beach. They lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas for three years, then moved to the state of Washington and together started Lewsader Construction Company. Again, it was wildly successful. In total, he built over 900 new homes and apartment buildings. In 2009 Charlie and Jeannie retired to Washington City, just outside of St George, Utah.
Throughout his life Charlie had a second passion, a second career, as a spiritual teacher and healer. He went to a lecture by Ernest Holmes in 1956 and it changed his life forever. He became a searcher for "truth" and found William Walters' Eschatology. He became a teacher of Eschatology and taught classes and healed people over an 18-year period. He was on the Eschatology Board of Directors at its peak under Genevieve Radar. Charlie went on to study more areas of spirituality. He wrote several articles and books on the subject while continuing to heal hundreds of people his entire life.
Charles is preceded in death by his wives, Jean and Evelyn; his parents, Samuel and Verna Lewsader; his five siblings: Glen, Crystal, Hazel, Harold, & Forest Lewsader; son-in-law, Don Grady; grandsons: Andrew Kaluza and James Mattix.
Charles leaves behind his four children and spouses: Richard (Diane) Lewsader, Kenneth Lewsader; Ron (June) Lewsader, and Ginny Grady; his five stepchildren and spouses: Chuck (Paula) Hoskins, Donna (Bob) Bonbright, Mark (Teresa) Hoskins, Cheryl (Mike) Kaluza, and Maricarol (Chris) Darden; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the loving caregivers who cared for Charlie in his later years. He called them "Charlie's Angels". Special thanks go out to Hilda, Olive, and Sylvia.
Charles Robert Lewsader was the living example of wisdom and generosity and will always be cherished by his family and friends. We were blessed to have him so close and so lucid for so long! A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
