IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Ty
Nuttall
September 7, 1966 – September 28, 2023
St George Utah - Charles Ty "Chuck" Nuttall passed away on September 28, 2023, from complications following surgery. He died at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones.
Chuck was born on September 7, 1966, the youngest child of Wayne and Fontella Porter Nuttall. He grew up in St. George, Utah, graduated from Dixie High School in 1984, and later with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
Chuck spent his life in social work and was an early adopter of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), advancing the field and successes for those with borderline personality disorders. He spoke as an expert at national forums and taught as an associate professor at the university level. He lived and worked in Virginia and New York City before returning to Salt Lake City to open and operate his clinic, Mind Body Soul Utah.
He was funny, fun, and smart. He loved his family, friends, and Broadway Musicals. He will be missed dearly by all of us.
Chuck is survived by his siblings: Becky White of Murray, Utah, Laurie (Tom) Harvey of South Jordan, Utah, Amy (Aaron) Black of Provo, Utah, and Lee (Dot) Nuttall of St. George, Utah. He is also survived by half-siblings: Sue (Ed, deceased) Hughes of Reno, Nevada, Barry (Nancy) Amundsen of Lake Villa, Illinois; and many adoring cousins, nephews and nieces, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and the ICU nurses and staff at LDS Hospital for their heroic efforts and their attentive care of all of us.
