Hurricane, Utah - Charles "Chuck" Anderson Widner passed peacefully at his home in Hurricane, Utah, on December 23, 2010. He was born September 28, 1933, to Ferlin Widner and Lela Puckett Widner in Arkansas City, Kansas. He had a wonderful childhood growing up in Kansas and Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. While stationed at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, Arizona, he met Carol Ann Linn. After his discharge from the Air Force, they married and had two children, Charles Anderson Widner Jr., and Caren M. Widner. They remained in Phoenix where he learned the trade of a glazier, and was a proud member of the Glazier's Union. After his children had grown, he and Carol moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he helped to construct many of the famous hotels and casinos. When his daughter moved to Southern Utah, he and Carol soon followed. Chuck commuted for several years while establishing his residence in Southern Utah. After retirement, he developed a love of ATV riding. He found many new friends among the ATV community and enjoyed all of his time with them. Chuck was especially fond of taking people out and showing them new trails he had discovered in Central and Southern Utah. Chuck is survived by his two sisters, Ona Proberts and Lois Foust; one brother, Cecil Widner; daughter, Caren; grandchildren: Zachary Josey, Marshall Josey, Emma Josey, and Samantha Josey; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann; his son, Charles Anderson Widner, Jr.; and by two brothers, one sister. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street, Hurricane, Utah. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 West Northern Avenue in Glendale, Arizona.
