Obituary

St. George, Utah - Chester Allen Pflugrad passed away April 17, 2012 at Dixie Regional Medical Center. He was born April 21, 1927 in Auburn, Washington to Samuel and Thelma Eisenhardt Pflugrad.

Chester is survived by his wife, Judith; step-sons: Gary (Pam) Wattis and their son, Kyle of Casper, WY and Paul (Anne) Wattis and their children: Desiree, Alexi, Phyllis and Eddy of San Francisco, CA; sisters: Nadine of Hillsboro OR; Dolores of Olympia, WA and Rita of Monroe, WA; brothers: Gerald Afton Pflugrad of Sun City, AZ, Clifford Malcolm Pflugrad of Walla Walla, WA, and Robert Melvin Pflugrad of Edmonds, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Winton Morely Pflugrad; and a sister, Muriel Lurine.

Chester was a semi-truck owner and operator. His first trucking job was hauling logs at the age of 16 from Idaho to a lumber mill in Farmington, Washington. He worked in the oil fields moving rigs and hauling equipment. Chester and Judith drove together hauling haz-mat gases: Liquid Helium, Aragon, Nitrogen and Liquid Natural Gases until they retired from over the road trucking and went to work for Lewis and Lewis, Inc. in Rock Springs, WY where they lived until moving to St. George, UT.

The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care providers at the Dixie Regional Medical Center 2 nd Floor Cardio-Vascular Unit, the nurses and the general in-patient hospice for their help and care of Chester.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
