Santa Clara, Utah - Christopher Jordan Chapman, age 20, died from a tragic plane crash Saturday, May 26, 2012 in St. George, Utah. He was born June 17, 1991 in St. George, Utah, a son of Chris K. Chapman and Terry Lee Denney Chapman.

Jordan grew up in St. George, Utah. He graduated from Snow Canyon High School, then attended Dixie College, and the University of Utah. Jordan had hopes of getting a degree in Exercise & Sports Science in pursuit of a Physical Therapist Career. He had an opportunity to work with a Physical Therapist for two-years while in St. George.

Jordan played rugby, baseball, basketball, and soccer, but primarily focused on football, and track & field. He was honored with a first place ribbon for throwing the shot put, and received other ribbons for throwing the javelin and discus.

Other hobbies he enjoyed were wake surfing, wakeboarding, video games, going to concerts or listening to music, long boarding, dancing, playing the piano, art, and spending time with family and friends. Jordan also did some modeling for Abercombie & Fitch. Jordan loved to travel and took every opportunity to go to the beach and Disneyland with his family.

Jordan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also participated in the Scout program as a young boy. Jordan's family and friends describe him as a great friend, he had a great sense of humor, was kind to everyone, and had a very tender heart. He loved his family, and was especially kind to his Mother and Sisters. They will miss going to the ballgames & movies with him. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.

Jordan is survived by his Mother, Terry and two sisters, Kyrie Mikhael, age 18, and Brecken Nicole, age 13, all of Santa Clara; Jeff ( Lori) Chapman and Jon (Larissa) Chapman of St. George; Grandmother Pat Gibson of Blackfoot, Idaho; Debbie (Barry) Jones of Puyallup, Washington; Kathy (Alan) Petersen of Boise, Idaho; Jeff (Julee) Denney of Firth, Idaho; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris K. Chapman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara 14th Ward-LDS Chapel, 630 Riesling Avenue, Santa Clara, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, at 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Saturday prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
