Obituary

Cierra Hanchett, born April 7, 1990, passed away at age 36 after a valiant and unwavering fight against breast cancer. She met her illness with remarkable courage, facing each challenge with the same bright smile and boundless love that defined her life.

Cierra had a special gift for connecting with children. She devoted herself to her nieces and nephews, spending countless hours caring for them, playing with them, and offering the gentle patience and wholehearted affection that made her a beloved presence in their lives. Her kindness drew children to her naturally, and she gave them her full attention, her joy, and her steady warmth.

She also served faithfully in her church community. Cierra completed a two‑year LDS Service Mission teaching high school students with disabilities and was a dependable chorister in her young single adult ward for several years. Her service was quiet, sincere, and deeply meaningful.

Cierra is survived by her mother, Sue and her stepfather, Kent; her father, Jim and her stepmother, Tammy; her sisters, Brianne, Jillian, and Hayley, and her brother, Daniel; and her stepbrothers Josh and Jesse. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family members who will forever cherish her gentle spirit.

Cierra will be remembered for her sweetness, her resilience, and the pure love she shared so freely. Her family holds close the light she brought into their lives and the courage she showed until the very end.
