Washington, Utah - Clarence Edward "Hank" Grody, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on February 20, 2013. He was born June 30, 1922 in Osborn, Ohio to Charles Edward and Goldie Edmondson Grody. He married Grace Ellen Schmidt on April 6, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in 1989 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. After his wifes death in 2000, he married Bonna Mae Cottle on February 14, 2002. Hank loved his children and helped and served in the community throughout his life. He served in the Army Air Corps and retired as a federal employee. He was active in the Masons for over 50 years. He loved doing family research and Temple work, and served as a officiator in the St. George LDS Temple for several years.
Hank is survived by his wife, Bonna; children: Rebecca Ann (Roger) Johnson, Sarah Jane (Jeffery) Wood and William Edward Grody, all of CA; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Lucille Tippey, Gladys Sanders, Violet Lee and Josephine White and two brothers: Alfred Grody and Carl Grody, all of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Monday, prior to services, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Washington City Cemetery.
