St. George, Utah - Clea Rose Walker Putnam, age 76, passed away November 25, 2014 of natural causes. She was born on March 18, 1938 in Mesa, Arizona to Merl LaMar Walker and Sybil Hartense Lee Walker. She married David Aldon Putnam on October 18, 1957 in the Logan LDS Temple. As a child her family moved around quite a lot. She grew-up in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and California. After graduating high school, she attend music college. She was always involved in dancing: ballet, acrobatics and tap. She owned a dance studio in Afton, Wyoming, where she taught many students. She was involved in the program at the Afton Lions Club. She taught in dance studios in California. With the help of a movie agent, her children were in movies and many television commercials. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She led the music in church and the choir. In California, she wrote the music for the road shows the church put on. Clea is survived by her husband, David; children: David (Natalya) Putnam, Jr. of Graham, WA, Cynthia Higbee of Port Angeles, WA, Jennifer (Mitch) Nielson of Chandler, AZ, and Sarah (Jason) Collier of Issaquah, WA; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters: Shirley Swenson of Burns Lake, B.C., Canada, Kathy Call of Providence, UT, Elizabeth Pew of Meridian, ID, LaRie Ford of Durango, CO; and one brother, Edwin Walker of Provo, UT. She was precede in death by her parents; a son, John Putnam; and brother, LaMar Walker. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel., 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
