Obituary

St. George, Utah – Our beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt, Cleo Brandley Gardner, 83, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2018 in St. George, Utah. She was born on March 14, 1935 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Joseph Smith Brandley and Anna Madeline Selk.
Cleo was raised on a wheat farm and a cattle ranch in Southern Alberta, Canada.   As a youth she lived in Sterling, Alberta with her family and then later graduated from High School in Star Valley Wyoming.   She received a B.S. degree from BYU with a composite major in Marketing and Interior Design.
She married Gary Earl Gardner on August 19, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.   They were soon joined by their daughter, Michele.
Cleo was a registered Medical Technologist and worked for 35 years at LDS Hospital.   After retirement Gary, Cleo and Michele built a home in St. George where they have lived for 17 years.
Cleo was known throughout her life for being loving, forgiving, generous, kind and compassionate.    She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.   She was extraordinarily conscientious and reliable in all callings that she received.  She loved her family unconditionally.   She had a great understanding of and offered continual encouragement to her daughter, Michele.  She was her greatest advocate.
With great dignity, she endured the last several years of her life, while battling Alzheimer's.   She will be greatly missed.
Cleo is survived by her eternal companion, Gary; her beautiful daughter, Michele; and brother, Calvin Brandley.    She is preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Ireta Wolfley.
We express appreciation and gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Seasons Rehab and Health Center and Canyon Hospice for the tender loving care they provided Cleo.
