IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clyde Kemp
Beshell, Jr.
October 30, 1947 – October 10, 2023
Virgin, Utah - Clyde Kemp Beshell, Jr., 75, passed away October 10, 2023. He was born October 30, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clyde and Marie Dunham Beshell. Clyde was an only child.
At the young age of 4, the family moved from Louisiana to Downey, CA for Clyde Sr's work. It was here Clyde attended elementary school, and then Southern California Military Academy for his Junior High years, where he played piano for many events. When not at school Clyde enjoyed visiting the family farm in Deming, New Mexico.
Clyde Sr moved the family one more time, from Downey to Anaheim. Here Clyde Jr. attended Anaheim High School and graduated with the class of '65. After high school Clyde was called to serve in the Vietnam war, where he chose to join the Marines. He served for two years, 68-69, then was honorably discharged. During this time, he met his future wife, Ann, through his stepsister Jennie.
Clyde and Ann married July 3, 1971, and spent 52 years together. They had four children,
Ariana, Daniel, Stephanie, and Tyler.
Clyde worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. He loved working at the post office and during his many years with them he wore multiple hats, such as, letter carrier,
supervisor, manager and finally route inspector.
In 2003, Clyde retired from the Post Office and moved the family to Southern Utah. At 55, Clyde wasn't really ready to retire permanently, so he tried his hand at several part-time jobs. He eventually was hired by Parks Transportation where he spent the last 14 years as a shuttle driver for Zion National Park. He made many great friends there, where he would create lifelong memories. He enjoyed interacting with people from all the states and all around the world.
In his younger years, Clyde was an avid bowler, and was also known to occasionally hustle the unsuspecting player at the pool table. He enjoyed riding quads with his kids and grandkids, road trips, bad dad jokes and rock hunting. He was known to stop along the side of any road at any time to find that perfect rock. When not searching for that perfect rock, Clyde enjoyed playing hand and foot with family and friends, where he would hold all of his cards in his hand and then demolish his opponents at the very end when they had no idea what hit them. He also enjoyed golfing with the boys and attending NFL games with his son.
Clyde was a great father, grandfather, and husband. He will be missed by many as he has touched the lives of all those, he crossed paths with.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Beshell; son, Dan Beshell (Heather); daughters: Ariana Rinaldi (Jeff) and Stephanie Beshell; and his grandchildren: Eric Beshell, Ryan Rinaldi and Pierce Beshell-Adams.
He is now reunited with his son, Tyler Beshell and we find comfort in this, knowing that they are finally together at last.
