Obituary

Courtney Stuart Houston, 48, graduated from his earthly life into an eternal peace on December 22, 2024, after a short battle with Septic Pneumonia, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in St. George, Utah on April 8, 1976, to Fredie Marion Houston and Loye Dene Wright. He was the 4th of 5 children. He grew up in Bunkerville, NV. On July 22, 2017, he married Aubrie Chauntelle Nielson whom he affectionately called his "devil woman".

As a young child, he looked at the world with a curious wonder. Doing so, he gave his parents a run for their money trying to keep up with his adventures. He was a master escape artist, no matter the tie-down his mother created for him. He had things to do and fun to be had! He spent most of his childhood riding around the "Bunkerville Mountains". Anything his older brother was doing, he wanted to do too!

He is described as: entertaining, joyful, mischievous, kind and a "hellraiser" in the best of ways. All around, he was just uniquely "Courtney". His primary goal in life was to create laughter, joy and to be happy! He lived for pranks and trying to get a rise out of anyone, but especially his wife.

Courtney's pride and joy were his kids: Ty, Quinten, Kambree and Lucas. He had his special nicknames for them: Super, Q-Tip, Pippy, Lucy/Gramma. He often bragged about their achievements and lived for moments of adventures with them. They were all his partners-in-crime. He wore the 'Grandpa Courtney' title loud and proud with Daizee, Jakzon, and Stetzy. He was also affectionately called "Uncle/Mama Nort" or "Uncle CoCo". He had a way with the little ones that would cause them to excitedly ride on his coattails to see what the newest adventure to be had was.

For many years, he was an over the road truck driver with some periods as a heavy equipment operator sprinkled in. He loved when his wife would be able to travel with him and they would get to experience the country together. He enjoyed introducing new things, like fireflies, to her. He loved watching her eyes sparkle with excitement. He would randomly sing to or dance with her in the kitchen or at random stops along their adventure paths. He considered it a "mission accomplished" if she rolled her eyes in exasperation at his antics. They had a banter that others loved to watch and egg on.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Aubrie; their children: Stuart Ty (Shea) Houston of Chubbuck, ID, Quinten Lee Hansen, Kambree Jean Hansen, and Lucas Darnae Hansen of Cedar City, UT; grandkids: Daizee Rae, Jakzon Ty, and Stetzy Jae Houston; parents, Fredie (Michele) Houston of Bunkerville, NV and Loye (Mark) West of Annabella, UT; siblings: Keith (Megan) Houston of Houston, TX; Julie (Eugene) Logue of Overton, NV; Corey (Melissa) Houston of Bunkerville, NV; Shana Houston-Hood of Elsinore, UT; Brielle (Louis) Thompson and Kenzie Phillips of Bunkerville, NV; Allen (Mindee) West of Eagle Mountain UT, Rick (Courtnie) West of LaVerkin, UT; parents in law: Brenda (Bob) Snell of Mesquite, NV; brother and sister in laws: Tarah (Henry) Moltzen of Santa Clara, UT; Shandon (Danielle) Miera of Ivins, UT; Maysen (Cody) Perkins of Beaver, UT; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kylie MaeDene Houston, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
