Obituary

Ivins Utah- Craig Edward McDonald passed away on April 11, 2024, at his home in Ivins, Utah at the age of 86.  He was born on August 12, 1937, in Manchester, Iowa to George and Janet Henderson McDonald.

Craig graduated from Orange High School in Waterloo, Iowa in 1955 and attended Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (now Iowa State University).  He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1958-1962 and was honorably discharged. Craig had three children from his first marriage.  He married Vicki Nolan Rogers in 1973 in Waterloo, Iowa, and they were married for 49 years until her passing in 2022.  He worked at John Deere in Waterloo before moving to Livonia, Michigan where he worked for Testek for many years.  Craig and Vicki loved to travel and traveled extensively with the Nomad Travel Club out of Detroit on trips throughout the world.  He retired in 2002, and he and Vicki moved to Ivins, Utah.

He is survived by his children: Vicki (Leon) Aden of Iowa City, Iowa, Mary Scourick of Ivins, Utah, and Scott (Kathy) McDonald of Waterloo, Iowa; brother, Kent McDonald of Cross Plains, Wisconsin; brother, Gary (Lynn) McDonald of Roseville, Minnesota; brother, Don (Lydia) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; sister, Deb (Tim) Mortvedt of Wilton, New Hampshire; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Marlys McDonald; and his sister-in-law Carol McDonald.

A memorial service for the family will be held in Waterloo, Iowa at a later date.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.
