St. George, Utah – D "Michael" Blair, 77 years old, died peacefully at home on September 2, 2024.  He was born on March 22, 1947, in Oxnard, CA to James E Blair and Carol Pendleton.  He married Clayrene Diana Hogan on July 10, 1970, in the Los Angeles Temple.

Mike was raised in Westchester, CA. He graduated from Westchester High School in 1965.  He served a mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1967 to 1969.  Upon returning from his mission, he graduated from UCLA with engineering and computer science degrees.  His career as an information systems director spanned decades.  He enjoyed working for Aleris/Novellus until he passed away.

Mike was passionate about reading, playing card games, speaking Portuguese, collecting unicorns, watching Lakers games and wrestling, and hating all cats, except for Patches.  He made friends easily and was amazing at listening and providing wise counsel.  He was a career primary teacher and joyfully taught for over 23 years.  Although he denied it until his death, Mike took immense pleasure in teasing his family, especially his wife.

Mike is survived by his wife, Clayrene, and his five delightful children: Jim, Annette, Andrea, DeAnne, and Christine, as well as the children who married into the family: Billie Donaldson, Nazar Kalayji, Jason Schwab, and Brandon Horta.  It must be noted that those children are as loved as his own.  He has 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Pat Blair Whitacre.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 3202 East Crimson Ridge Drive, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
