Hurricane, UT - At the young age of 73, Dal passed away surrounded by his family July 7, 2009. It was a perfect morning for a good game of golf. He was born October 1, 1935 in Hurricane, Utah to Hattie and Clyde Angell, and was raised in LaVerkin. He attended Hurricane High School, where he played baseball and was known for his great pitching arm. He was scouted to play ball but instead decided to join the Navy in search of far off lands. After serving in the Navy, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he met his sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Veronica Lee (Conrad) Angell. Dal worked in Las Vegas for the Clark County Fire Department for 20 years as an engineer. He moved his family back to Hurricane, Utah in 1976 and commuted to work until he retired in 1985. Dal loved the outdoors and spent his retirement years working construction, golfing, hiking and gardening, and was always surrounded by many friends whom he cared for and who in turn cared for him. He especially loved his many great adventures hiking with his brother. Dals family was the light of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and caretaker of all. He loved nature and all creatures that inhabited it, and adopted many strays along the way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Veronica; Son, Jeffery (Becky) Angell; daughters, Donelle (Steve) Baxter and Kathlynn Angell; five wonderful grandchildren; sisters, Karen Soderholm and Verlynn (Ray) Beal; brothers, Chuck (Susan) Angell and Kenneth (Anita) Button; step-brothers Lloyd and Gerald Button; and step-sister Louise Button Vitale. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, first daughter Angela Angell and brother Dennis Angell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main St., Hurricane, Utah. Interment will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
