Washington, UT - Darlene Forsyth Crandall passed away July 31, 2013. She was born April 23, 1922 at the family home in Price, Utah. Her parents are John Andrew Forsyth and Elsie Clyde.

Darlene was the 7 ^th child of 8 children. She grew up in Price and remembered the family home was small. She had enjoyable childhood memories and a great love for her family. After completion of high school, Darlene was employed as a telephone operator and moved to Vallejo, California where she met Max B. Crandall who was stationed at the Mare Island Naval Base. They fell in love and after a short courtship they were married on March 26, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1955, Max and Darlene moved to Southern California where they raised their six children.

Darlene was very active in her church and was always willing to serve in callings and help other people. She and Max were ordinance workers in the Los Angeles and the St. George Temples. They moved back to Utah in 1983 and settled in Washington City.

Darlene is survived by her six grateful children: son, Joseph Crandall of Washington, UT; daughter, Kathleen Rands Gray of Payson, UT; son, Grant Crandall of Houston, TX; son, David Crandall of Winslow, AZ; son, Paul Crandall of St. George, UT; daughter, Susan Crandall of Rancho Cucamonga, CA;16 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5 ^th , at 10:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
