Obituary

St. George, Utah – David Patrick McGuire passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 5:30 a.m. He received his Last Rites before passing. He was born June 24, 1945 to Vincent E. "Vinney" McGuire and Barbara Gust McGuire. In Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up around the game of golf and loved it. He graduated with the first Skyline High School, Class of 1963, and tried to make all the reunions.

Pat went to work in all the best Salt Lake City restaurants before moving to Las Vegas in the '70's and becoming a Crap's Dealer Extraordinaire. In 1984, he moved back to Utah and opened McGuire's Restaurant which became famous for great food and fun and its golf motif in St. George before closing in 1999. Pat went back to dealing in Mesquite, Nevada where he was affectionately known as "Paddy" for 10 years before retiring. He loved people and most people loved him. He will be missed by many.

David leaves behind his best friend, companion, and wife, Veryl O'Leary McGuire; his beloved dog, Little Buddy; brother, Vincent "Mike" McGuire; sister, Cynthia Villaponda; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two uncles, a nephew, brother, Richard E. McGuire and sister, Tammy McGuire Clark.

"We will celebrate him home and they will celebrate him in where I'm sure he will head straight to the links."

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George Catholic Church located at 259 West 200 North. A gathering will be held at Kuzy Hall from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
