Obituary

David Alan Putnam, 65, was born on July 1, 1956, in SLC, Utah to Glen Robert Putnam and Dorothy Mary Pike Putnam (Brown). He passed away at home on September 13, 2021, from complications of the COVID-19 coronavirus. David, also known as Dave by everyone was raised in Holladay, Utah, he graduated from Olympus High School in 1974 and later with a degree in Drafting from a Community College.  He spent many happy years with his grandfather (Julian Alan Pike), uncle (Alan Selby Pike), brother (Glen Robert Putnam) and cousins (Richard and Alan Pike) exploring the Copper Globe in central Utah, in the blue cabin, scouting for rocks and mining for copper.

Dave married Michelle G. Midkiff June 14, 1981. They had one child, and made a home together in Magna, Utah. They later divorced.

Dave met and married Reta Gardner Putnam, the love of his life, October 23, 1994. They made their home together in Ivins, Utah. There they raised their grandchildren, Destiny and Tylor as their own.

Dave loved his work at Quality Park Envelope Company, where he moved into management and worked until he retired. He had a habit of examining any envelope that he received. He was dedicated and hard-working, he hired and mentored countless individuals and supported the company.

Dave was a good man who lived his life with patience, generosity of spirit, love, a sense of humor, sensitivity, and humbleness. He lived his life with multiple disabilities, continually adjusted and accommodated, living his life always 'half-full'. He loved and cared for his family and gave of his time and attention with all his nieces and nephews, siblings, parents, children, grandchildren, cousins, who he always treated as his own children. Teasing them, playing with them, and creating good memories.

Dave is survived by his wife, Reta; children: Nathan, Lisa, Tylor, Destiny, Michelle; sisters: Barbara J. Putnam, Gina Putnam; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was dedicated to his family, and always had an open heart and home for them.
