IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dawn Mackay
Anderson
April 22, 1949 – May 17, 2021
Dawn was born on the bright sunshiny day of April 22,1949. She passed away after a courageous 7-year battle with ovarian cancer, May 17, 2021. Her parents Rulon B Mackay, and Miriam L. Mackay appropriately named her Dawn as throughout her entire life she brought warmth and bright sunshiny rays everywhere she went.
Dawn cherished the time growing up on the family farm where she created life long memories with her parents and siblings.
With her strong work ethic and life skills Dawn developed multiple talents and was very creative. She attended the U of U in their dance program, then graduated from beautician school. Her clientele included most of Granger and they all became fast friends. She served many their entire lives.
During her life she was an athletic director, a winner of many tennis awards ranking second for a period of time in the State of Utah, switching to playing golf and was an accomplished artist.
Dawn was married to David Olsen and they had 3 devoted sons. She met Ramon Anderson who swept her off her feet and they were married on Sept 4, 2003, being able to travel this life together these last 17 years.
Dawn loved life and lived it to its fullest. She had a quick wit and a subtle sense of humor. But most importantly Dawn was a great mom, and just adored her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She loved to spoil them and always had special activities with unique experiences for each of them. A favorite activity was the dollar store trips along with rides on the golf cart.
She kept a lovely home and beautiful yard; she had a real flair for decorating. Dawn loved riding behind husband Ray on their many Harley bike adventures and vacationing all over the US. She was an excellent hostess. She loved to entertain hosting in her home, enjoying her friends in several groups, serving on the Entrada Ladies Golf Association Board.
Dawn is preceded in death by her parents, brother Dean Mackay, stepson Michael Anderson. She is survived by her husband Ramon Anderson; sons: Troy & Angela Olsen, Travis Olsen, Bronson & Kellie Olsen; Step-children: Sharilyn & Jerry Brull, Doreen & Martin Simpson, Steven & Jamie Anderson, Ashley Anderson; Brothers and sisters: Kay & Austin Burton, Cindy Mackay, Robyn & Kennth Harwood, Wayne & Mignon Mackay. 19 Grandchildren: Troy Ryan Olsen, Bryce Olsen, Caitlin Olsen, Brandon Olsen, Christian Shomer, Jaden Olsen, Brighton Olsen, Madisen Olsen, Gavin Olsen, Gage Olsen, Cadence Olsen, Jake Brull, Katelin Brull, Brooke Simpson, Drew Simpson, Paige Simpson, Dylan Anderson, Megan Anderson, Lydia Vera. 2 Great-grandsons: Parker Lloyd, Eli Glade.
She was met by even more loved ones as she passed to the other side. Her light may have transferred to an even brighter place but her spontaneous influence will continue to illuminate here with her beloved family and all who knew her.
