St George - Della May Farley Briggs was born in Midvale, Utah to Bryan and Elva Farley on February 16, 1930. She married Arthur LaMar Briggs on February 2, 1948, and began a family shortly after. She was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Arthur "Bud" on March 11, 1980.

Della was proud of her service in the Latter-day Saint church as a secretary of Sunday School and Temple assignments. She worked for many years as a nurses' aid at St. Marks and Bountiful Hospitals.

She was a mother to three children: Dennis (Collette), Randy (Carol), and Sherry Evans (Bob). She had 5 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Bud preceded Della in death by 21 years, and she spoke of him often with much affection. She had three sisters (Helen, Joyce, and Cheryl) and four brothers (Lyle, Lyman, Glen, and Gene) and she greatly enjoyed her close relationships with them.

Della was a dog lover, she especially loved Pekinese dogs, but her last dog Ashley, was a most beloved companion until the end. Her love of animals did not end with dogs, she also raised a very memorable duck named Petunia. Della was well known for having an immaculate home and yard, she took pride in her home and her figurine collections.

Earlier in life, she and Bud spent many nights bowling in the league they belonged to, she was a den mother to her sons in their boy scouts' program. Later in life, they retired to St George and frequently took mini trips to Mesquite.

Della passed away peacefully in her son Randy's home on Sunday July 23, 2023. The family would like to give special thanks to her hospice nurses and aids and also to Collette and Gayle for their tender care at the end. We are comforted in the knowledge that she has been reunited with her sweetheart.

She will be fondly remembered for her famous homemade peanut butter cookies. Thanks for ice cream cups and Shasta Grandma!!!

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday prior to services, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
