St. George, UT – Delmer Lang, age 94, passed away December 23, 2022, at his home in St. George, UT. He was born October 30, 1928, in St. George, UT, to Albert and Zella Hall Lang. He met Velda Mae Cox, who he fell in love with and married on June 16, 1953, in Cedar City, UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on February 14, 1958.

He loved camping and the outdoors. He loved Arizona and the Arizona Strip. He loved ranching, fencing, and working on the strip and Mt. Trumbull. He was a very kind and gentle person. He was liked by everyone. He was a true old-fashioned cowboy. He was a very inventive person and reloaded his own bullets. He retired from the City of St. George after 29 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velda Mae Cox Lang; daughter, Velda Elaine Lang Aerts; son, Hollis Thayne Lang; son-in-law, Grant E. Olenslager; and many other family members and friends.

He is survived by three of his five children: LaRetta (Grant-deceased) Olenslager, Densel (Cindy) Lang, Kelmer Lang, all of St. George, UT; 13 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. Viewings will be held Friday January 6, 2023, from 6:00-7:00 pm and Saturday, prior to services, from 11:30-12:30 pm at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be in the Veyo City Cemetery.
