IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delores "Dee"
Pope Hagler
August 11, 1932 – March 9, 2023
Ivins City – Dee Hagler passed away on March 9, 2023. She was born in Murphysboro, IL August 11, 1932, to Fred A. Pope and Delia K. Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hagler of Ivins, UT; son, Dan Pope Hagler, of Goffstown, NH; granddaughters: Robyn Hagler Seymour, Grace Hagler, Katie Hagler; great-grandsons: Rhett and Ashton Seymour; and great granddaughter, Sawyer Hagler Walton. Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Hagler; and her son, Ronald Brad Hagler.
Dee was multitalented. Dee graduated from Murphysboro Township High School and attended Southern Illinois University. She worked in the Panama Canal Zone as a Household Effects Coordinator for the U.S Army at Albrook Field. Later Dee became the Director of Veteran Affairs at Southern Illinois University. While her husband served in Viet Nam, Dee raised three wonderful children. She served as Director of all volunteer health service personnel at Wheeler ABF, Hawaii. Dee also worked in the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce where she coordinated Chamber activities and Conejo Valley Days activities. Additionally, she published the first Chamber Newsletter to its members.
Dee later opened her own women's boutique, D's Fashions, in Thousand Oaks, CA. Her talents for fashion, color, style, marketing, and merchandising were unmatched. She later worked for Robinson's-May as the Jones New York Specialist. She left her mark there as well, awarded her "Gold Star, Burgundy Star, and Ruby Star" in record time. Dee was a master at putting the woman together with such flair and simplicity; her ability was unparalleled. Subsequently, Dee went to work for Evan Picone/Ellen Tracy as a merchandiser. She handled all Robinson/May department stores in a territory that extended from Santa Barbara, Ventura, Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Valencia and San Fernando Valley, CA.
She always said her greatest success was rearing her three children. She was a fantastic wife, mother, Nana, and a stabilizing figure in our home. Dee, moved to Ivins, UT with her husband after their retirement. They were avid golfers and fell in love with the area and her neighbors. She was a familiar sight in the neighborhood walking her beloved, large, white Samoyed dog" Koa."
The family wishes to thank Spring Gardens Memory Care and Dixie Home & Hospice-they delivered beyond our expectations. Per Dee's wishes, in lieu of services and flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
